What it is

Clear lenses, more road.

Headlight lenses are polycarbonate with a thin UV coating on the outside. Sun kills that coating, and once it's gone the plastic underneath oxidizes and goes yellow. Restoration takes off the dead layer with progressive wet sanding, polishes the lens back to clear, then seals it with fresh UV coating.

Why it matters here. A hazy lens scatters light instead of throwing it down the road. On a wet November night on a road with no street lights, you notice. It also ages the front of a car faster than anything else, which matters if you're selling.

What the appointment looks like. Both lenses assessed and masked so the surrounding paint is protected, then sanded through grits, polished and coated. Same visit, and it bolts onto any other service on the schedule.

Afterward. The UV coating is the part that matters. Without it a lens polished clear in April is yellow again by August.
